Secretary’s report was read. Steve made a motion to accept. 2nd by Guy. All in favor.

Treasurer’s report was read. We have a balance of $5,823.79 on hand. Previous balance was $5,884.93. Paid out was $39 for postage and 53.39 office supplies at Staples; 31.25 deposited from sale of a book. Guy made a motion to accept. 2nd by Doug. All in favor.

Communications
-- Oct 27 there is a course at the Crown Plaza in Lake Placid from 9-1 on Documentation Basics.
-- Nov 6, 9-4 at the Best Western in Saranac Lake “Basics of Archives” by NNYLN – Karen in planning on attending.
-- Sharon Voeller is looking for the grave site of Lorrinda Cooper Richardson. Please contact her with any information we find.
-- Karen wrote thank you notes to Wilmington Town Board for their support in our request to gain property; Ruth Boyer for her contributions to WHS
-- Update was sent to James Dawson who was instrumental in WHS acquiring our provisional charter.
-- EM Cooper Library is having a writing contest. Title: My Favorite Adirondack Wild Animal in the Adirondack Park. Open to ages 5-18 . 150 word min. due by Nov 18, 2006. Bring finished paper to the library during regular business hours. 1st place $50, 2nd - $25, 3rd - $15, and 4th - $10

Publications and Programs -- The Oct 6 issue of Adirondack Life magazine makes mention of Wilmington headstones.
-- All of the known Wilmington headstones can be located on the www.Rootsweb.com
-- Doug and Karen will get together to discuss future speakers. Doug will speak with Natalie LaDuc to check her schedule.

Membership Committee -- Time to start preparing for the 2007 brochure.

Special Committee Reports -- Oct 30 6-8pm a the Fire Hall will be the 3rd public meeting for Adirondack Sustainable Communities. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
-- Doug and Karen will contact Kara Page re: updating the map.
-- Methodist church records are now photographed! Copies are available at the Library, Methodist Church, and Wilmington Historical Society. THANK YOU Bob Peters for taking the time to photograph this very important collection!

Old Business -- Website – Patrick McIntyre needs more photos with desciptions to update the website. Merri will provide some.
-- Malbone cemetary – site locator map to be worked on next summer
-- Archives Day – We should move our sign onto the corner of Route 86 and Springfield Rd to be more visable.
-- Liz Miskovsky has old Chamber of Commerce book Complete with all photos and descriptions. We need to compare our copy with hers to make ours complete.
-- WHS now has archives space in the Town Hall! A locked metal cabinet with misc. files that we are continually adding to. These records are available to use by appointment only.

Open discussion was held on “ROADS in Wilmington”. Merri Peck showed photos of old Wilmington Roads on the computer. Others shared photos, stories and information. Discussion was digitally recorded.

Liz Miskovsky made a motion to end the meeting.
2nd by Steve Connor. All in favor.
