The Wilmington Historical Society will be prepared in case it rains with pop-up canopies, so please don’t let a little rain “showers forecast” for Sunday deter you from attending the event! Don’t miss it! We now have a piece of the cannon from the original 1850 cannon prank for all to view with much thanks to the Wilmington E.M. Cooper Library’s recent donation! There will be much more— stories of the cannon prank, a reading of excerpts from the “Chronicles of Wilmington”, the song “The Stolen Gun” as it was recently recorded by professional musician and educator Dave Ruch.
