Land Update- What’s Going On There?

As you can see by the photos, we have a lot going on with our land thanks to our new neighbor behind us. We have been fortunate indeed with the cooperation and pro-bono work from the new owner of Brook Side Acres, Jeffrey Gelfand. The right-of-way for his acreage gives him access through the Wilmington Historical Society property. The Wilmington Historical Society, in a spirit of cooperation, gave permission for Jeff Gelfand’s contractors to drive logging vehicles across our property, turn the right-of-way into a road, and use the perimeter of our property as a required silt barrier.   In turn, the historical society has been the beneficiary of much work that needed to be done on our own property including felling and removing of trees, leveling of our land, installation of a convenient tap for water, electric lines, and a paved road which will be built to town specifications and donated to the town for future maintenance and repair.  With cooperation and constant communication, we are grateful for all the work that will save us money, paperwork and time when future adequate funding allows us to construct a building for the Wilmington Historical Society.
